Talking bodies is a training course designed as an Embodied Arts Laboratory. A meeting point for Embodied Arts Facilitators and Youth Workers to share ideas, approaches, techniques and experiences with colleagues working with body methods and in the field of Social Change from all over Europe.
A space for creativity, art and inspirational sparks where we will exchange Theatre, Dance, Circus, Body Expression and other Embodied Arts methodologies to be used in youth work as powerful tools for developing a sense of Connection and Belonging through an Empathy-based approach.
STRUCTURE OF THE TRAINING COURSE
Embodied Arts Laboratory 19th - 26th August in Sant Joan, Mallorca, Spain
6 days programme focused on gathering together both youth workers already using Theatre, Dance, Circus, Body Expression and other Embodied Arts as tools for Social Inclusion and those that, working in the same field, haven't tried this kind of methodologies and would like to acquire new embodied art's tools and gain new skills in delivering artistic workshops.
Local Action Phase
You will go back to your local organisations and will put in action the recently gained tools and skills causing a real impact and boost for social inclusion in your community. During the first phase you will have the chance to create new Embodied Arts workshops specifically designed and adapted for your target group.

THE TRAINING COURSE IS DESIGNED FOR TWO TYPES OF PARTICIPANTS:
Embodied Arts facilitators
Those working with the body in a creative way (theatre, dance, movement practices, contact improvisation, circus, martial arts, street art, body expression, body work, impro techniques…) and that have experience facilitating in front of the group. |
Youth workers
Those working with young people at risk of Social Exclusion (including young people with disabilities, Roma community and with migrant backgrounds, LGBTIQ+ young people…) that are interested in Embodied Arts methods but don’t have much experience and tools for applying them with their target group. |
